Course Objectives

1. To understand basic concepts of earthquake-resistant design and software usage. 2. To develop skills for computer aided design of earthquake-resistant design of concrete structures.

Introduction to ETABS and revision of AutoCad.

Verify the manual calculations of base shear using ETABS.

Structural framing and layout of geometry in ETABS.

Applying loads (basic loads, service and factored load combinations)   using ETABS.

Evaluation of analysis and performing concrete design  using ETABS.

Extracting concrete design from ETABS for AutoCad  drawing.

Introduction to SAFE.

Evaluation of analysis and performing concrete design using SAFE.

Extracting foundation design from SAFE for AutoCad drawing.
