Course Objectives

1. To understand fundamentals of fluid mechanics. 2. To enhances kills of utilizing fluid mechanics for civil engineering applications.

CLO:1            Understand the basic concept of fluid statics and kinematics.

CLO:2            Understand the steady flow through pipes.

CLO:3            Have knowledge about fluid mechanicsin application of civil engineering.

Course Contents

Calibration of Bourden Gauge.

To determine the Hydrostatic thrust activity on a plane surface immersed in water.

Determination of variable area flow & Co-efficient of discharge of venturi flow meter &orifice plate.

Determine the Co-efficient of velocity of small orifice by Jet Trajectory.

To investigate the Reaction Forces produced by the change in momentum of Fluid Flow.
