M. A. Jinnah University Society for Energy and Environment
Society for Energy and Environment (MAJU-SEE) arranged an introductory session on “WWF-Pakistan and International Eco Internship Programme” in collaboration with WWF - Pakistan on Wednesday, March 04, 2015 at 12:30pm in Auditorium A-1.
A three member team headed by Mr. Muhammad Umar, Head IEIP North, WWF-Pakistan gave an interactive session for the faculty and students. More than hundred students and faculty members attended this session.
Ms. Shahira introduced the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as one of the world’s leading conservation organizations with almost four million supporters, 4,500 staff members and a global network active in more than 100 countries. She told that WWF-Pakistan is one component of the WWF International network, and is working through 31 offices and a team of 340 dedicated staff for saving Pakistan's biodiversity, natural resources, forests, freshwater sources, wetlands, and mangroves for the past 43 years. WWF’s International Eco Internship Programme offers a wide range of opportunities for students to gain insight in the technical and administrative programmes of WWF-Pakistan.
Students took keen interest in this session and asked many questions. WWF team presented gifts to the students and faculty members for answering the questions during the interactive session.
After the session Mr. Abdullah Bin Osaf gave a presentation about the activities of Society for Energy and Environment (MAJU-SEE). In his ending note Dr. Ishtiaq Hassan thanked the WWF team for a very informative and interactive session. He presented the society souvenirs to the WWF team members. The event ended with a lucky draw for the audience.
