One-Day Workshop on “MACHINE CONDITION MONITORING USING VIBRATION ANALYSIS”

Department of Mechanical Engineering at Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad jointly organized a one day Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshop in collaboration with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) on April 22, 2015. This activity was a part of MAJU’s ongoing efforts to improve the technical knowledge of human resource of Pakistan. The title of the CPD workshop was “Machine Condition Monitoring using Vibration Analysis”. Dr. Rana Iqtidar Shakoor, who is CAT III Certified Vibration Analyst from Mobius Board of Certification, Australia and has more than fifteen years of experience in machine diagnostic and industrial reliability was the resource person of this workshop.

This one day workshop covered all important aspects of machine condition monitoring including maintenance strategies, basics of vibration and phase analysis and how one can use vibration signatures to diagnose common machine problems. Around ten participants from academia as well as industry participated in this workshop. In the end, Prof. Dr. Amir Qayyum, Dean Faculty of Engineering, distributed the certificate among the workshop participants.
