Re-visiting Budgetary Priorities for Fiscal Year 2016-17
Islamabad, 11th May, 2016. A policy seminar was held on the subject: “Re-visiting Budgetary Priorities for Fiscal Year 2016-17” at the Capital University of Science and Technology, Islamabad. The seminar was organized by the Faculty of Management and Social Science under the supervision of Dr. Saira Ahmed and Dr. Junaid Ahmed, Assistant Professor of Economics. The distinguished guests who graced this auspicious occasion were Mr. Qaiser Sheikh (MNA) and Chairman Standing Committee Finance, Mr. Faheem Sardar, Financial Analyst, Mr. Naeem Siddiqui, CEO, Computer Super Market, Mian Ramzan, Charted Accountant and eminent speaker on indirect taxation. They shared their views on the forthcoming Budget FY 2016-17.
The undergraduate students of Management Sciences, Mr. Shaharyar Cheema and Mr. Mohib ul Haq presented their work on the fiscal problems which the country currently faces. They highlighted several important proposals based on their study to the prominent speakers. The Guest Speakers appreciated the efforts of the CUST students. Finally, there was the question and answer session where the audience asked several questions regarding Federal Budget from the Guest Speakers. The seminar ended with presentation of the University souvenirs to the Guest Speakers by Dr. Arshad Hassan, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences.
