Distinguished Visitors Program (DVP) Session held on July 17th, 2017 at Capital University

IEEE Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST) hosted its second session of Distinguished Visitors Program (DVP) on July 17, 2017. Mr. Hussain Mahdi was invited as a Guest Speaker on this session who is an IEEE Region 10 (Asia-Pacific) Humanitarian Technology Activities Committee member, IEEE Region 10 Young Professionals South-East Asia Coordinator, IEEE UKM Student Branch Advisor, IEEE madC Region 10 Asia Pacific Ambassadors Coordinator, IEEE Xtreme Region 10 (Asia-Pacific) PR Lead and former SSR IEEE Malaysia Section. He discussed the importance of IEEE, essence of volunteer work, the benefits and opportunities of IEEE in different fields, details about the nature of IEEE activities conducted by best Student Branches, criteria for international awards, the IEEE Xtreme 24-Hour Programming Competition 2017, and IEEE Day 2017. A good number of participants from different Student Branches of Islamabad Section attended the event. A shield was given to Mr. Mahdi as a token of appreciation by Mr. Qazi Abdul Muqeet, Capital University Student Branch’s counselor. The response received from the participants regarding the event was over-whelming.
