BS Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering that encompasses technologies related to electronics, telecommunication and power systems is one of the fastest growing areas in science and engineering today. Advances in Electrical Engineering have played a pivotal role in the new era of information technology, intelligent systems, multimedia communication, and automated and smart grid systems. All these technological advancements would not have been possible without the interdisciplinary research and combining several offshoots of Electrical Engineering.

Department of Electrical Engineering at Capital University of Science & Technology effectively provides a strong foundation for those wishing to pursue a career in Electrical Engineering through a diverse range of theoretical skills and practical experience. BS Electrical Engineering is a 4-year program with specialization streams in Power, Electronics and Telecommunication. The program is based on solid foundations of mathematics and science, along with an effective and relevant hands-on knowledge. Strong partnerships with industry and funded research provide great opportunities for undergraduate students to carry their research, projects and internships. Other pragmatic learning programs provide opportunities for students to gain relevant real-world experience during their program of study.

Admission Requirements

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate (FSc Pre-Engineering) or Equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics securing at least 60% marks in aggregate.
    In case of foreign qualification, equivalence from IBCC will be required.
  • Diploma of Associate Engineer Examination in relevant discipline securing at least 60% marks in aggregate (up to 2% of maximum allowed seats).
  • CUST Admission Test or HEC Approved Test.

Program Duration

This is a four year degree program comprising of 8 semesters. There will be a Fall and a Spring semester in each year. The summer semester will be utilized for internship or deficiency courses. The maximum duration to complete BS Electrical Engineering degree is 07 years.
