Pharmaceutical analysis lab course provides fundamental pharmaceutical methods of analysis applied in all pharmaceutical analytical laboratories. Students will be able to learn about various spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques for the characterization and separation of pharmaceutically important chemical compounds.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLO)
CLO: 1. To illustrate the qualitative and quantitative analysis of drugs and drugs products through spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques (Level: C2)
CLO: 2. To Perform spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques for the characterization and separation of pharmaceutical compounds (Level: P2)
CLO: 3. To Analyze the spectrum and chromatogram of unknown chemical compounds (Level: C4)
NOTE: Practical of the subject shall be designed from time to time on the basis of the above-mentioned theoretical topics and availability of the requirements, e.g. determination of the purity and composition of the unknown drugs by using at least each of the above techniques. (A minimum of 10 practicals will be conducted)
