About The Program

Faculty of Pharmacy offers Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences designed to prepare a new generation of research-oriented pharmaceutical scientists, educators, and innovators capable of addressing the dynamic challenges of modern healthcare and drug development. This program aims to strengthen advanced research capabilities across the full spectrum of pharmaceutical sciences, including Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmacy Practice.
Through rigorous scientific training, access to state-of-the-art laboratories, expert mentorship, and academic-industry collaborations, the PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences seeks to produce highly skilled researchers who will contribute significantly to pharmaceutical education, industry advancements, evidence-based healthcare, and national policy development—both in Pakistan and globally.

Admission Requirements

  • A M.Phil/MS degree in relevant discipline. Relevancy shall be established by the Graduate Admission Committee.
  • Minimum CGPA 3.0/4.0 (Semester System) or 60% marks (Annual System)
  • Admission Test/ HEC Approved Test
  • Interview

Degree Requirements

A candidate of PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences shall be awarded degree on successful completion of following requirements:

  • 18 Cr. Hrs. Course Work with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00
  • Comprehensive Examination
  • 30 Cr. Hrs. Research Work
  • Synopsis Defense
  • Dissertations foreign Reviews
  • Publication of Research paper(s) in HEC approved journal
  • Dissertation final defense

PhD scholars are required to comply with the following timeline:
