Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) Inspection Team’s Visit to CUST
Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) Inspection Team visited the Faculty of Pharmacy (FoP) on July 31, 2024 for an in-depth scrutiny of the department’s infrastructure, facilities, faculty, curriculum, and resources. The team comprising Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Ghoto (Member of the PCP), Dr. Muhammad Akhlaq (Federal Member of the PCP) and Dr. Ameen ur Rehman (Secretary of the Balochistan Pharmacy Council) was briefed through an insightful presentation by Dr. Muzaffar Abbas, Dean FoP. After the presentation, the team undertook an extensive tour of the campus, including key facilities in different blocks. They also visited the lecture halls, library, computer labs, auditorium, sports area, and common rooms for boys and girls.
The primary objective of the visit was to reverify the environment and resources available to the Pharmacy students. The team also reviewed the specialized facilities like, Pharmaceutics Lab, Basic Medical Sciences Lab, Pharmacognosy Lab, Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab, Industrial Lab, Quality Control and Instrumentation Lab, and the Post Graduate Research Lab. During their inspection, the committee meticulously evaluated the condition of the laboratories, the functionality of laboratory equipment, the availability of lab manuals, chemicals, glassware, operational tools and multimedia. Additionally, interactions with students from various semesters revealed a high level of satisfaction with the learning environment.
The PCP team appreciated the CUST management for its commitment in maintaining a robust and well-organized environment, infrastructure and resources and functional lab equipment contributing to an enhanced educational experience. The team’s feedback highlights the university’s commitment in delivering an exceptional educational experience and sets a benchmark for excellence in pharmacy education.
