The Department of Civil Engineering organized a focused training session on Monday June 08, 2026 on “IDEA StatiCa: Steel Structures from Design to Construction”, delivered by *Engr. Chaudhary Fazeel Ahmad*, Senior Structural Design Engineer at NESPAK Islamabad Office. The session began with a discussion on fundamental design concepts, relevant codes, and common design mistakes in steel structures, providing a strong theoretical foundation. It then progressed to practical demonstrations of modelling steel connections using IDEA StatiCa. The training emphasized real-world engineering practices, software-based workflows, and detailing challenges, offering students valuable industry-relevant exposure and strengthening the link between academic learning and professional structural engineering practice. The final year students showed keen interest in learning industry oriented practices.
