The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), CUST, organized a two-day workshop for the capacity building of faculty, titled “Teaching Beyond the Lecture: Essential Andragogical Strategies for Faculty” on 13 and 17 August 2026, facilitated by the subject expert, Dr. Nusrat Fatima Rizvi, PhD. from Oxford University. The workshop focused on enhancing faculty members’ understanding and application of andragogical and learner-centred teaching strategies. The sessions featured interactive activities, group discussions, practical exercises, and presentations, enabling participants to explore effective approaches for increasing student engagement and promoting active learning. The workshop provided faculty members with practical strategies to move beyond conventional lecture-based teaching, foster critical thinking and participation, and create more engaging and effective learning environments. It contributed to the professional development of faculty and the continuous enhancement of teaching and learning practices at CUST.
