HEC Visit for Anti-Drug Policies and Related Awareness Initiatives Across the Campus

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Monitoring Team comprised of Mr. Saleemullah Sohoo (Director General), Mr. Riaz Ahmed Qureshi (Deputy Director) and Mr. Rana Shafique Abbas Joyia (Assistant Director) visited the Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST) on June 30, 2026, to monitor the implementation of anti-drug policies and related awareness initiatives across the campus. Dr. Muzaffar Abbas, Convener of the Anti-Drug and Tobacco Committee, and Dr. Tahir Hameed Ullah Khan Registrar, CUST presented an overview of the University’s anti-drug and anti-tobacco campaigns. They also highlighted CUST’s collaborative efforts with the HEC, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), and relevant authorities in Islamabad to promote a safe, healthy, and drug-free academic environment. The HEC Monitoring Team conducted a comprehensive campus inspection to evaluate the implementation of the University’s anti-drug policy and related preventive measures. The team highly appreciated the commitment and efforts of the Capital University of Science and Technology in maintaining a drug- and tobacco-free campus and fostering awareness among students and staff.
