Dr. M. Umar Farooq

Professor/HoD English

Professor Dr Muhammad Umar Farooq is working as Head of the Department of English at CUST. He earned his PhD in English (Applied Linguistics) with specialization in Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) and teacher development. He has teaching experience of more than 30 years at higher education institutions in Pakistan and abroad. He has published three books and more than 50 articles in reputable international and Pakistani research journals. He has organized and presented at national and international ELT conferences. Based on his PhD research, he won a grant from the Higher Education Commission and established the first Self-Access Centre at Allama Iqbal Open University. He represents CUST on academic committees of various universities. He has been an active member of many national and international organizations. At CUST, he is a member of the Executive Council, Academic Council, BASR, and other academic committees. Besides BS and MS English (Linguistics), he has initiated several academic and professional development activities to improve the teaching and learning environment. He is Editor of the CUST Newsletter which covers academic achievements and activities. Also, he is Editor of SPELL Magazine, a platform that provides an opportunity for students to publish their work. He has organized teacher development sessions at public schools/colleges in the vicinity as community service.

Dr. M. Saqib Zaigham

Assistant Professor

Dr. Muhammad Saqib Zaigham is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English, Capital University of Science & Technology, Islamabad. He earned his PhD degree from University of Bakht Alruda, Sudan. He has more than twenty three years teaching experience, at university level in Pakistan and abroad. His main research area is in Phonetics & Phonology.

Mr. Inam Elahi is a PhD scholar at IIU Islamabad, an M.Phil in English Linguistics, Master in English Literature, PGD in TEFL, and Certified in UbD from the College of Education, Amherst, USA. He is a skilled and experienced faculty member of the English Department. He is a Principal Lecturer and Coordinator of BS and MS English Programs. He has vast experience in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He has attended many international conferences on Education in the USA and India. Currently, he is conducting his PhD research in the field of Narratology, on novel to film adaptation.

Ms. Saeeda Ibrahim

Ms. Saeeda Ibrahim is a dedicated and accomplished educator with dual Master's degrees in English Literature and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). She possesses a strong academic foundation and practical teaching experience, including eight years tenure at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in the Functional Courses (FC) Department. She demonstrates a passion for language education, curriculum development, and student-centered learning. She is committed to fostering linguistic proficiency among diverse student populations.

Ms. Uzma Arshad

Senior Lecturer

Uzma Arshad completed the MPhil in Linguistics from the University of University of AJ&K Muzaffarabad 2006, and joined academia where she worked at different universities including NUML; Bahria University, Quaid -e- Azam university Islamabad. Uzma Arshad research interests are in Phonetics and Phonology, code Switching and Corpus Linguistics. She has supervised numerous BS research articles to the students of BS program at NUML Islamabad. She got souvenir from different Colleges of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Ms. Naveeda Fazal Haq is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at Capital University of Science and Technology, Islamabad. She did her MS/MPhil in Language and Literature from National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad, Masters in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), MS/MPhil in Applied Linguistic Research and Certificate in English Language Teaching to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) from UK. She is an internationally certified English language teacher and has been teaching English to learners with diverse educational, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds for about 20 years.

Ms. Asma Naz

LECTURER

Ms. Asma Naz is a Lecturer with over 10 years of teaching experience at QAUand CUST. She has taught a wide range of core and allied Linguistics courses across disciplines and is known for her student-centered, scaffolded approach to learning. Currently a PhD scholar, her research focuses on Cyber Linguistics, Forensic and Computational Linguistics, and Digital Media Discourse, with an emphasis on linguistic deception and digital communication. Alongside teaching, she serves as course coordinator, batch advisor, in charge of the Academic Writing Center, and report writer for departmental events. She is also the patron-in-chief of the Cust Art and Literary Club and a member of the Health and Safety Club. Ms. Naz actively mentor students for writing and speaking competitions, combining her academic, administrative, and research expertise to foster well-rounded learners.

Ms. Faiza Arshad

Ms. Faiza Arshad has done MS in English (Linguistics & Literature) from COMSATS University, Islamabad. She started her career as an English Teacher and Subject Specialist at Siddeeq Public School in Rawalpindi. She has worked at Fazaia Inter College Nur khan for eleven years. She has worked as an English News Caster in Radio Pakistan, Islamabad. Her areas of interest in research are; Translation Studies, Feminism, Discourse Analysis, Literary Theories and Bilingualism.

Mr. M. Aneeb Fazal

Mr. M. Aneeb Fazal is currently doing PhD in English Linguistics from National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad. He has done MS in English (Linguistics & Literature) from COMSATS University, Islamabad. He started his teaching career as a Lecturer from Grafton College, Islamabad in 2016. He also worked at The University of Lahore, Islamabad Campus for three years. He has also achieved various certifications from several foreign educational organizations. Mr. Aneeb’s research interests include Corpus Linguistics, Corpus stylistics and Forensic Linguistics. He has also supervised a number of MA English research dissertations.

Mr. Sikandar Seemab received his M.Phil degree in English Linguistics from NUML, Islamabad in 2019. He is an educational professional with more than 10 years of teaching experience at college and university levels in Pakistan. Currently, he holds a permanent position as an English Lecturer at the Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST). Additionally, he served as a visiting English Lecturer at various prestigious institutions, including the International Islamic University in Islamabad, NUML, and Bahria University in Islamabad. At Bahria College's Zafar Campus, Islamabad, he worked on the role of Head of Department for English. Mr. M. Wasim Haider

Mr. Wasim Haider holds a BS (Honors) in English Literature from the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, and M.Phil. in English Literature from the University of Central Punjab (UCP), Lahore. He commenced his career in higher education at UCP and has since taught various literature courses at Lahore Leads University and UMT. Additionally, he served as a lecturer at the University of Wah (UW), where he taught both undergraduate and graduate literature courses, and acted as the MS Program Coordinator. He has also co-supervised several M.Phil. theses. Mr. Haider is a research-oriented person with extensive experience in teaching literature, managing academic activities, and coordinating various projects.

Ms. Rimsha Jahangir
