Human Molecular Genetics

Dr. Shaukat Iqbal Malik has done two post doctorates from USA in Cancer Biology and DNA repair & Cytogenetics from UNC Chapel Hill and USEPA-RTP NC . His PhD is in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The fields of research are Molecular Genetics, Cancer Cytogenetics, Comet Assay, Micro-arrays Gene Expression Data Analysis. Currently he is working as professor in the Department of Biosciences, Capital University of science and technology Islamabad. Previously He was Served Agri. University oF Athens, NUST Campus, H-12 As Associate Professor, University of Qatar and BUIRTMS, Takatu Campus Quetta. He has numerous Impact factor Publications in well reputed international Journals and also have a number of International and National Confronters abstract in his credit.

Currently, we investigate Falcarinol Type polyacetylenes of Carrot inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis in hepatocarinoma cell line, Hormonal Fluctuation of Postmenopausal Risk Leading to Breast Cancer in Pakistani population. Calcium dose involve in disrupting of cell cycle leading cancer in breast cells, Chromosomal Linkage with HIV patients in addition to that we are working on looking diferent aspect of Breast Cancer in Pakistani population. In addition, some students working of Non Syndromic Polydactyly, MDR on Typhi and   MDR on TB in KPK Province.

At the moment PhD, MS and BS students are working in different areas including cancer genetics, Microbial genetics, Thalassemia, Bladder Tumor , MDR on Typhi and MDR on TB and human genetic diseases.
