A Delegation of Capital University Calls upon National Institute of Banking and Finance at Islamabad
On Monday 22nd May 2023, a meeting was held at the NIBAF (National Institute of Banking and Finance) office with the Project Director, Mr. Salman Shehzad, with Dr. Amir Qayyum and Ms. Ameena Saeed, representing CUST. The purpose of the meeting was to explore various activities that could be conducted at CUST in collaboration with NIBAF.
One of the proposed initiatives was to organize a financial literacy gala at CUST, with the aim of training 50 female business entrepreneurs in partnership with Meta (Facebook). The plan involved hosting an event at CUST, specifically targeting 50 female entrepreneurs who were already involved in small businesses, whether they were students of CUST or external participants. The one-day seminar, jointly organized by NIBAF, Meta, and the State Bank, would provide comprehensive training on financial literacy. The participants would be awarded certificates upon completion of the seminar, free of cost.
In addition to the financial literacy gala, NIBAF also discussed plans to launch a nationwide financial literacy competition. This competition will be held at the city, district, provincial, and national levels. It was emphasized that all universities would have the opportunity to participate and contribute to this competition, making it a significant national event.
Furthermore, NIBAF expressed a need for partner institutes to facilitate the rollout of financial literacy training in local schools and colleges. To address this, it was proposed to recruit 50 business graduate students and assign them a project. These students would undergo a training-of-trainers (TOT) program and subsequently be awarded certificates. Once certified, they would be responsible for conducting 2-hour training sessions in various schools. Upon completing 20 sessions, the students would receive experience letters as recognition for their efforts. Overall, the meeting concluded with an overview of NIBAF’s upcoming projects, presenting opportunities for collaboration with CUST.
