COURSE OBJECTIVES

This is an introductory course on Information and Communication Technologies. Topics include ICT terminologies, hardware and software components, the internet and World Wide Web, and ICT based applications. Main objective of the course is to make students computer and information literate. Students will get an exposure of solving problems using ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). Students will learn essential skills associated with effective use of computer, internet and web.

CLO: 1. Categories the type of computer system that a business uses and also recognize the different components of a computer
CLO: 2. Explain the purpose of software applications in different categories and the features found in a variety of modern applications software packages
CLO: 3. Identify some of the advantages and disadvantages associated with a variety of common applications. Describe some of the ways in which applications software supports the activities of a business organization
