Geo-Technical and Foundation Engineering (CE3333)

• To enhance the skills related to bearing capacity and settlement evaluation of soils.
• To apply principles of soil mechanics to engineering problems pertaining to retaining structures, foundations and embankments.

CLO: 1. To investigate shear strength of soil and safety factor against bearing capacity, consolidation settlement and slope stability.
CLO: 2. to design various types of shallow and deep foundations and earthen dams.
CLO: 3. to justify and defend recommended factor of safety and stability against different geotechnical designs.
CLO: 4. to perform simple tasks related to geotechnical engineering (e.g. bearing capacity, settlement and slop stability analysis) using software tools.
