From CUST Dr. Sahar Fazal, Dean FoHLS, Dr. Marriam Bakhtiar, HoD Bio Sciences, Ms. Ameena Saeed, Manager ELIC and Mr. Zia Uddin AO FoHLS, participated in the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the CUST Terms of Reference (TORs) for scholarships for foreign students. During the meeting, the CUST delegation presented their TORs, which cover eligibility criteria, admission procedures, scholarship criteria, fee waivers, maintenance, and the number of scholarships to be offered. The scholarships would be available for BS, MS, and PhD programs. The application process would be conducted online through the university’s website.
The TORs presented by CUST for international students were appreciated by SLHC. The SLHC proposed suggestions such as arranging suitable hostels, paying round-trip air tickets, assisting with health insurance, and issuing comprehensive award letters to scholarship recipients. The CUST delegation expressed a preference for Sri Lankan students already studying in Pakistani universities. Both parties affirmed their full support for implementing the proposed measures. The meeting concluded with plans to update the TORs and prepare meeting minutes, design scholarship announcement flyers, and promote the scholarships in Sri Lanka through various SLHC channels.
