Department of English Holds Poetry Recitation Competition

BS English students’ literary society SPELL (Students’ Panel of English Literature and Linguistics), established and patronized by the Department of English, organized its first poetry recitation event “Together We Rhyme” on November 30th, 2021. The event was conducted in the CUST library hall at 2:00 pm and it concluded around 3:30 pm. Eleven students from the Department of English, one student from the Department of Pharmacy, and one student from the Department of Biotechnology presented their poetic extracts and shared their valuable thoughts on various personal, social, religious and political issues. The HoD Dr. Umar Farooq and the English Department’s faculty graced the occasion and appreciated, encouraged, and supported the young talented student poets. Dr. Hashim Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of English, coordinated the event and made all the necessary arrangements. SPELL plans to work on holding many such events in the future.
