Directorate of Sustainability and Environment Holds a Seminar on Plastic Pollution
A seminar on the topic “Plastic Pollution” was organized by the Directorate of Sustainability and Environment, on Nov 29th, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. The purpose of this seminar was to bring the government, the corporate sector and the academia on one platform in an attempt to create a mutual understanding pertaining to the alarming Plastic Pollution issue and to discuss the possible actions plans which are both feasible and sustainable and which can tackle this issue on an emergency basis. The guest speakers for the event were Ms. Maryam Shabbir, (Environmentalist at Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI)) and Mr. Usman Chaudhry, (Assistant Professor at FAST-National University of Computer and Emerging Science (NUCES)). Both the guests shed some light on plastic pollution and shared some interesting facts with the audience. They encouraged the students to make a conscious personal effort on reducing their plastic usage and promote reusable and sustainable resources to conserve the planet.
