Department of English organized a symposium on ‘Imagination, Creativity, and Representation’

Faculty Development Team, Department of English, Capital University of Science and Technology, Islamabad, organised a symposium on English studies under the theme ‘Imagination, Creativity, and Representation’ on May 9th, 2023. Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Lahore School of Economics, Lahore; Prof. Dr. Sarwet Rasul, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, FJWU, Rawalpindi; Dr. Munazzah Yaqoob, Associate Professor, IIUI; Dr. Muhammad Kamal Khan, Associate Professor, AIOU, Islamabad, honoured the occasion with their insightful talk. The keynote speakers presented their views on the importance of Literature, Linguistics, Research, and English Language Teaching. Furthermore, different social and academic issues were highlighted by the presenters, and how to cope and possibly resolve these issues. Students and teachers from different institutions/universities participated and appreciated the diversified themes. They made the event a success via questions and answers session at the end. The symposium lasted for two and a half hours, and Head of English Department, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Umar Farooq concluded the event with a note of thanks, and awarded shields to the keynote speakers as a token of appreciation.
