ORIC Holds One Day Workshop on LaTeX

Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) organized One-Day Workshop on Latex on Thursday, 27th May 2021. The session was held on “ORIC Seminars” Team. The purpose of the workshop was to equip participants with the most updated knowledge about creation of technical documents using Latex with practical illustrations. Latex is a Typesetting system suitable for producing scientific and mathematical documents which enable authors to typeset and print their work at the highest typographical quality. It is most often used for medium-to-large technical or scientific documents and can be used for almost any form of publishing. The workshop covered following topics in brief:

1. Latex Overview and Installation
2. Document Write-up
3. Mathematics Operations
4. Insertion of Figures and Tables
5. Generation of Table of Contents
6. Bibliography

The resource persons for the particular workshop were Dr. Ali Arshad Uppal, Assistant Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering, COMSATS University, Islamabad and Mr. Afraz Mehmood Chaudhry, PhD Scholar, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. A total of 24 participants including the faculty members, research scholars and students from various departments attended the workshop. The Resource Person and participants were graciously thanked by Assistant Director at the end of session.
