ORIC Holds PhD Alumni Get Together of Faculty of Engineering

The inaugural PhD Alumni Get-Together of Faculty of Engineering was held on Thursday, 23rd September 2021 by the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) at 04 PM in Conference Room, F-Block, CUST.

The event was a preliminary effort to initiate strong relations/liaison with CUST PhD graduates as per vision of Vice Chancellor CUST. The event was advertised through “Official CUST PhD Alumni Group”, Emails and Texts. Following advertisement, the graduates were personally invited on phone. A total of 22 persons attended the get-together.

The ceremony was graced by honorable Vice Chancellor, CUST, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mansoor Ahmed. Dean Research & Innovation, Prof. Aamer Iqbal Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Computing, Prof. Muhammad Abdul Qadir, HoD Electrical Engineering, Prof. Noor Muhammad Khan and HoD Civil Engineering, Prof. Ishtiaq Hassan were also present at the occasion. The event started with the welcome note of Dean Research & Innovation followed by brief talk of Vice chancellor CUST.

In his address Vice Chancellor welcomed and acknowledged the participants for visiting CUST. He discoursed the importance of such meetups/liaison in context of strong academia-alumni relationship. Dean FoC and HoD EE also paid welcoming tributes to the members. Following welcome notes, the alumni members were asked to share their current workplace/designations and their views/feedback regarding CUST. The forum was then opened for general discussion. The Vice Chancellor was pleased to know the professional excellence and accomplishments of the members. He ensured that the doors of CUST are open for its graduates for any sort of support/problems.

This was followed by Alumni Cards distribution and high tea refreshment. The ceremony concluded with acknowledging remarks of Dean Research & Innovation. He appreciated the endeavors and professional growth of alumni and ensured to arrange such type of meetups on continual basis.
