Capital University of Science and Technology has organized Post Budget Seminar
Capital University’s Post-Budget Seminar 2018-19 was organized on 3rd May 2018 by the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences (FMSS), in collaboration with the Talk World Program of Career Pakistan. The guests included His Excellency Mr. Patchamuthu Illangovan, Pakistan’s Country Director, World Bank and Mr. Faheem Sardar, CEO Askari Securities Ltd. The event began with a warm welcome by the Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Mansoor Ahmed, followed by a meeting with all the Deans and Heads of Departments. The presentation was given by Dr. Amir Qayyum, Dean Quality Enhancement Cell. The guests appreciated the various faculties at CUST and the many achievements undertaken by its students and faculty.
Subsequently, speakers spoke at length to the students focusing on Pakistan’s 70 years of economic progress and the much-needed budgetary reforms at the federal as well as provincial levels. The seminar ended with an engaging Q&A session and the distribution of shields by the Vice Chancellor and Dean FMSS.
The students, faculty and staff benefited from the Seminar. It was of special benefit to the Budget Project student-groups who shall now be undertaking complete study and calibration of the Federal Budget under the supervision of Dr. Saira Ahmed and Dr. Junaid Ahmed. Finally, it is encouraging to note that the recommendations proposed during the seminar have been shared with the National Assembly’s and Senate’s Standing Committees for Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs.
