ORIC Holds Get-Together of PhD Alumni

The PhD Alumni Get-Together of Faculty of Computing (FoC), Faculty of Management & Social Sciences (FMSS) and Faculty of Health & Life Sciences (FHLS) was held on Tuesday, 02nd November 2021 by the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) at 05 PM in Auditorium (A1).

The event was a preliminary effort to initiate strong relations/liaison with CUST PhD graduates as per vision of Vice Chancellor CUST. The event was advertised through “Official CUST PhD Alumni Group”, Emails and Texts. Following advertisement, the graduates were personally invited on phone. Around 50 graduates attended the get-together.

The ceremony was graced by honorable Vice Chancellor, CUST, Prof. Muhammad Mansoor Ahmed. Dean Research & Innovation, Prof. Aamer Iqbal Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Management & Social Sciences, Prof. Arshad Hassan, HoD Computer Science, Prof. Nayyer Masood, HoD Software Engineering, Prof. Nadeem Anjum, HoD Mathematics, Prof. Muhammad Sagheer and HoD Management Sciences, Dr. Lakhi Muhammad were also present at the occasion. The event started with the inaugural speech of Vice Chancellor CUST followed by welcome note of Dean Research & Innovation.

In his address Vice Chancellor welcomed and acknowledged the participants for visiting CUST. He discoursed the importance of such meetups/liaison in context of strong academia-alumni relationship. The Vice Chancellor was pleased to know the professional excellence and accomplishments of the members. He ensured that doors of CUST are open for its graduates for any sort of support/problems. Following welcome notes, the alumni representative Dr. Khurram Shahzad (Dean Faculty of Management Sciences, Riphah International University, Islamabad) paid tribute to CUST faculty and administration on behalf of PhD Alumni.

This was followed by alumni cards distribution and high tea refreshment. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the endeavors and professional growth of alumni and ensured to arrange such type of meetups on continual basis.
