Seminar on the Youth Development Program – An initiative by WWF
The Directorate of Sustainability & Environment and the Office of Corporate Linkages, under the leadership of Dr. Saira Ahmed initiated a seminar regarding Youth Development Program by WWF (World Wide Fund on Nature) on 9th March, 2020. The inspiration behind conducting the session was to create awareness in the students about the emerging challenges faced by the planet as a result of the global warming and other environmental issues. For that purpose, Ms. Zarmina Khan and Ms. Rafia Arshad from WWF were cordially invited to talk about different development programs offered by WWF and the opportunities for the students to participate in these programs. Dr. Saira, Director Sustainability and Environment ended the session with profound gratitude and Dr. Shuja Safdar Gardezi, Assistant Professor Civil Engineering Dept also graced the session and talked about an individual effort to be initiated by the youth to prevent water and electricity wastage.
The session was followed by a meeting in which Director VIS, Dr. Shaukat Malik also ensured his presence and guided a way forward for further collaboration. The Office of Corporate Linkages plans to initiate a Memorandum of Understanding ceremony shortly after which, the WWF programs shared during the session will operate in full Swing with joint collaboration of the Directorate of Sustainability and Environment and VIS with WWF.
