The topic of the seminar was “Envision through Emotional Intelligence”. Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict.
The goal of the seminar was to convey the basic understanding of Emotional Intelligence/EQ and the importance of it in our daily lives. Often we forget about our mental well-being and push too strong on our physical abilities avoiding our emotions and sentiments. This seminar enlightened us in numerous ways in how to take charge of our life mentally. Dr. Sarmad explained different human emotions and behavioral patterns which cause an imbalance in our routines and personalities, how our mental health is as important as our physical health and we tend to neglect it due to societal pressure.
Furthermore, the guest speaker emphasized on the positive/negative mindsets we grow on ourselves unconsciously. There are different exercises and practices to control your emotions and take charge of your mindset but it is only possible when you start acknowledging the concept of Emotional Intelligence.
