PROFILE SUMMARY

Dr. Muhammad Irfan received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Koc University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2017. He worked on the development of Front-tracking method based solver to simulate the phase change and combustion of evaporating droplets. Since 2017, he has been full time faculty member at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST), Islamabad, teaching at both the undergraduate and post graduate levels. His research interests focus on the prime issues of public importance, i.e., the provision of clean and affordable energy through the utilization of renewable energy sources, eventually mitigating the adverse effects of the climate change. He is actively engaged in the research activities to enhance the performance of thermal energy storage devices to efficiently store renewable energy and waste heat. Furthermore, he is carrying out research in the field of ejector refrigeration system using steam as an environmentally friendly refrigerant and waste heat as an energy source. He has published 20 research articles in well-reputed ISI-indexed international journals with an impact factor of ~85. He is a member of the Quality Assurance Committee of the CUST that is working to continuously improve the quality of education at the institution.
