Dr. Abdul Basit has more than 18 years of teaching experience at National and International level in the field of Computer Science. He is currently working as Associate Professor and Head – Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Computing, Capital University of Science and Technology, Islamabad – Pakistan. He completed Ph.D. in Computer Science with specialization in Digital Image Processing, Machine Learning and Computational Intelligence in 2010. He has authored more than 20 research articles in different Peer Reviewed Journals and reputed International Conferences. Additionally, he is the co-author of 02 book chapters of international books with ISSN. He is member Board of Studies of Computer Science programs at various universities. He has also been awarded different scholarships including MS leading to PhD scholarship in 2005 by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and scholarship for the development of Computer Science from Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan in 2000. He was the member of National Curriculum Revision Committee (NCRC) for Computer Science in 2013. Dr. Abdul Basit is an approved HEC supervisor and in addition of currently enrolled MS and PhD students enrolled with him, around 13 MSCS and PhDCS students have successfully completed their thesis under his supervision.
