PROFILE SUMMARY

With a diverse experience of almost 20 years, Dr. Syed Shujaa Safdar Gardezi is currently working as “Associate Professor” in Department of Civil Engineering, Capital University of Science and Technology, Islamabad. He is involved in teaching and research supervisions at both graduate and undergraduate levels. He is team lead for “Construction Engineering and Management” stream, head of “Construction Management Research Group” and teaches subjects like, Construction Contracts for Civil Engineers, Advanced Project Management, Advanced Construction Management and Project Planning & Control. He is certified Building Information Modeling (BIM) professional and also the founding and current Director of BIM Centre of Excellence (BIM CoE) at CUST. Dr. Shujaa is actively involved in research activities with major area of research including green buildings, net zero energy buildings, energy optimization, building information modelling, building carbon footprints, life cycle assessment, construction safety etc. Findings of these works have been published in well reputed journals and conferences including achievement of certain competition awards.Dr. Shujaa completed his PhD in Civil Engineering (2013-2017) from UTP Malaysia with specialization in Construction and Project Management. Before joining UTP in Feb. 2013, he worked in National Engineering Services of Pakistan (NESPAK) at the position of “Resident Engineer”.
